Maybe your just beginning and you’ve never even held a guitar. Maybe you taught yourself and feel like you’ve hit a plateau learning only from YouTube videos. Or maybe you are a parent and you want to support your child’s natural musical interests and abilities. Wherever you are at today, I will work towards taking you to the next level.

A typical 45-minute lesson usually looks something like this: we spend a few minutes catching up/getting to know each other better, then a 10 to 15 minute warm-up that changes week to week depending on your goals. After that, anything is possible! If your just starting out and don’t know what music you like, then I can teach you few different styles that will push your technique and maybe we will find a song in there that really flips that switch. Did you just join a band and want to work on song writing? We will explore how to unlock your creativity. Or perhaps your child is preparing to audition for a guitar or voice program in college, then coaching an impressive performance will be our most important goal.

Students say:

“Matt has been unbelievable!! Our daughter, Amelia (8 years old), has been taking lessons for about a year. Learning basic techniques — notes, song structure, etc. She’s learned about 5 songs. She love’s to play and learn new things. We love matt because he’s always patient, thorough, and encouraging. Always positive!!! We highly recommend Matt!!! As Amelia said “He rocks!!”

— Phil, Amelia’s father

“I've worked with Matt for several years now, and couldn't be happier with the progress he's helped me make. As a latecomer to guitar, I feel Matt's been incredibly adaptable to my pace and way of learning, and has been willing and able to pivot to lessons on technique, music theory, or just plain 'learn a song' whenever I need to change things up and get unstuck.”
